Mya Women’s Center provides free limited STD testing in Ashtabula, Ohio, exclusively for our pregnancy center patients.
If your pregnancy test is positive and you are considering abortion, we will test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and provide referrals for treatment if needed.
STD Information
It’s important to remember that not everyone infected with an STD will experience signs or symptoms. But STDs can still cause severe damage, and can be passed to your partner(s) without your knowledge. You don’t need to be experiencing symptoms to be contagious. You can spread the disease at any time.

Get Tested Before Abortion
If you are considering abortion, you should be tested for STI/STDs (even if you are not experiencing any symptoms to ensure that there are no possible complications). A surgical abortion can make some STIs/STDs worse and and if left untreated prior to an abortion, can spread to your pelvic area and potentially cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.
